Every card helps a young technical artist build their dream.
Locals 4 Good is a fundraising program of The Quietly Working Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every donation funds hands-on creative training for young people at The Missing Pixel Project.
During lockdown, a student learning 3D design asked one question:
Why don't we teach other kids, worse off than us, how to do this?
What young people learn on every ad, whoever designs it
Some owners have us design their ad. Others bring their own art. Either way, every ad teaches:
- How other designers tell a brand's story in a small space
- Business development
- Programming and development
- Pre-press layout: getting a page ready for the press
- Creating a legendary donor-partner experience, from start to finish
Mentored by award-winning pros
Award-winning professional designers mentor every student, and no design goes out without an award-winning pro's blessing.
You'll never see their faces here.
We never share a student's name, face or voice, and we never sign their work. That's on purpose. Their stories are theirs to tell, when they're ready.
Who we serve
The Missing Pixel Project is our creative training program for underserved youth, 30 and younger. Many of the young people we serve are neurodivergent, and many have come through hard places most never see. That lived experience makes them uniquely fluent in designing for real human minds... so the work they make reaches everyone.
Tested. Proven. Now Yours.
Before the Quietly Working Foundation was a nonprofit, it was Quietly Working... a business development & creative agency that spent 30 years showing up for organizations of every size. Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, Mom & Pop shops... the kind of clients who told us, 'You care more about my business than I did.'
Every process refined. Every mistake survived. Every lesson learned. That's what's inside the tools you're using now.
Locals 4 Good carries the agency's award-winning printing, publishing and design work for organizations of every size into a new shape: one beautiful card a month, and young technical artists learning the craft on every ad.
We have experience, but only because we were given the true honor of serving many organizations... each empowering us to learn something new. And now, we are blessed to empower our supporters, which truly brings the honor of serving full circle.
The ten-year dream
The dream is simple, and it's a ten-year one: cover 100% of our operating costs through fundraising programs like Locals 4 Good. When we get there, every dollar anyone gives outside these programs goes straight to serving more young people.
Where the money goes
Your donation covers printing, postage and delivery. What's left funds hands-on training at The Missing Pixel Project and the Foundation's work with young people. The average amount after expenses is $5,000 per postcard.
